Description
This document is intended to provide fundamental information on how to create a custom protocol for data communication between devices that are connected to a half-duplex RS-485 bus. By definition a half-duplex is a system in which one or more transmitters can communicate with one or more receivers with only one transmitter being active at any one time. For this application note, it is advised to read through the document to better understand the basics of creating a custom protocol.
